The CTLA Center is for the use of faculty and staff of IU Kokomo. It is located in the Library KA 120. For your convenience, help manuals containing the basic tasks have been placed next to each computer. We have a wide variety of programs and equipment available for your convenience and use.
Our center contains up-to-date computers, a facility for sound recording, and an area for consultations and training. We offer assistance with all aspects of course design. Student workers are available to assist you in the late afternoon/early evening. Our center is available for drop-in faculty computer use, particularly for adjuncts. Faculty can check out laptops to take to conferences, special laptops for online course development, digital movie cameras, and professional development programs on media. In addition to the standard software available on all IU Kokomo computers, we also have SoftChalk, Raptivity, and SnagIt available. We provide headsets at all computers for listening to DVDs and videos or recording sound. We have a cintique drawing board for creating your own images and flatbed scanners.
We can schedule appointments for "one on one" consultations in the CTLA Center. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to book a session if you require assistance with a particular program. In addition, we present workshops on Canvas, Microsoft products, Adobe Products, Raptivity, Echo360, and VoiceThread. Please check the event schedule to find out when the workshops are being held. If you have between three to five people in your department who require training but cannot make a specific time, an arrangement can be made for a separate workshop at an alternative time.
Our technical tips page provides information to assist you with common tasks.
University Information Technology Services (UITS) provides IT training for faculty, adjuncts, staff, and students. Courses cover all skill levels. You will need your IU User ID and password to get started. You can download workshop materials, check online articles, blogs, and videos.
Canvas is Indiana University's Learning Management System for enhancing classroom instruction and delivering online courses. We offer hands-on workshops on Canvas as well as one-on-one training on specific areas if there is no workshop available. In addition, we provide canvas resources to get you started.
