IU Kokomo The Innovation Symposium Grand Expedition Bicentennial Trip

A one-week class in Kokomo followed by seventeen days of travel in England to study environmental innovation, meet with innovators, and participate in environmental awareness activities and service learning activities.
Students are nominated by faculty and submit an application; up to 15 will be selected to interview with a panel of former Innovation Symposium participants and faculty, who will select 10 students.
Students must be nominated by an IU faculty member. A signed recommendation letter on department letterhead is required (faculty should submit the letter as a .pdf directly to kfstouse@iuk.edu). Nominations are due by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2019.
The criteria for nomination are:
At least junior standing preferred, making normal academic progress with no disciplinary actions and have approximately a 3.00 cumulative GPA.
Have a strong interest in global issues, in service learning, and in international travel.
- Be willing to meet with the group and participate in preparatory activities prior to the start of the course; be willing to complete post-trip presentations and assist with a “pay forward” activity.

Cost
The cost for this trip includes a special subsidy provided by the Office of the Bicentennial, reducing the overall amount that students pay.
