A degree that pays off

One recent study of EMI – economic mobility index – explored how quickly college graduates could recoup the cost of their educations. The higher the income out of college and the less the cost of that college cost, the better the EMI score.

In the rankings, IU Kokomo landed in the top tier for economic mobility. And the price-to-earnings premium (PEP) for IU Kokomo was a remarkable 1.16 – meaning students coming from families earning $30,000 or less per year, on average, recouped the cost of their IUK education in a little more than one year – one of the best scores in the state of Indiana!

We created the Kokomo Experience and You (KEY) to send our students out into the world to see, do, and get a feel for their future. KEY offers transformative learning opportunities through hands-on experiences, field trips, and even international travel. Almost all KEY experiences are free to students and include educational enrichment tied to their major, and opportunities to network with professionals in their field.
