Online Course Stipend Request
The Faculty Senate Distance Education Committee is soliciting course development/redesign proposals at Indiana University Kokomo. Course development stipends are available for courses not previously taught online at the IU Kokomo campus. Priority will be given to courses required for online programs and those needed to bring new programs online. Additionally, priority will be given to faculty who have not previously received this online course stipend.
The stipend for proposals will be $2,000 for developing an online course based on an existing face-to-face course or one new to the curriculum. This will be divided into three installments. Each faculty member receiving a stipend must agree to the conditions outlined in the Online Course Development Stipend Contract, including an informal Quality Matters review, to ensure the course conforms to Best Practices in teaching and learning.
Proposals will be routed for approvals by the School Dean and EVCAA, then reviewed by the Faculty Senate Distance Education Committee; Applications are due September 1st , February 1st, and May 1st; All applicants will be notified in October, March, and June.
According to the conditions of the contract, due dates are chosen for the following semester start dates:
September 1 deadline is for a course beginning the following Summer.
February 1 deadline is for a course beginning the following Fall.
May 1 deadline is for a course beginning the following Spring.
For example: September 1, 2020 for courses beginning online in Summer 2021; February 1, 2021 for courses beginning online Fall 2021; May 1, 2021 for courses beginning online Spring 2022.
