You will have two choices to request the tax transcript online or by mail.
As a Student, if you would like to try and receive your transcript online please make sure when you are using this option, you have all the information needed to verify your identity. If a Parent wants to use this to receive a copy of their tax transcript, the primary tax payer’s identity information will be required. This also means the primary taxpayer will need a cell phone bill in their name too.
We recommend using Get a Transcript by Mail:
Navigate to Get Transcript by Mail, you will come to this page.
- For the Student, enter your social security number, Date of Birth (DAY/MONTH/YEAR), mailing address and zip code.
- For the Parent, the primary taxpayer will enter their social security number, their date of birth (DAY/MONTH/YEAR), mailing address and zip code.
- Then Continue
Tip: To find your address in this system, type your address the same as it was typed on your last 1040. Unless you have moved since your latest tax return and submitted a change of address form through the US Postal Service. In this case, you will want to use the new address.
If you have successfully been identified, you will be directed to this page.
- You will want to choose the Type of Transcript: Return Transcript
- You will want to choose the Correct Tax Year: Refer to your To Do List
- Then Continue
You will receive a notification stating your request has been received and will be processed. The request takes 5-10 business days and will be mailed to the address on file.
