Federal Student Aid has released the FAFSA4caster for high school students to help you and your family plan for college by increasing your knowledge of the financial aid process and sources of aid as well as providing you with an early estimate of your eligibility for federal student assistance. If you use FAFSA4caster, your data can be transferred to the FAFSA on the web application.
New FAFSA forms for the next aid year are available on October 1. FAFSA on the web allows you to complete and submit your financial aid application electronically. The federal school code for IU Kokomo is 001814. The FAFSA Priority Application Receipt Date is April 15 each year. To receive maximum consideration for financial aid for the new academic year, the FAFSA must be at the Federal Processor on or before April 15 each and every year. However, if you miss this date, still apply as you have until June 30 of the following year to file, as long as the semester has not ended.
If you provide an email address on your FAFSA, the federal processor will send you an email notification with a link to your Student Aid Report (SAR). If you did not provide an email address, you will receive this notification by mail in 7 to 10 days. You should review your SAR for any necessary corrections or updates. If you do not hear from the federal processor within one week of submission, go to the FAFSA website and FAFSA Follow-Up 3 and select: "Check Status of a submitted FAFSA or Print Signature Page." For additional FAFSA Follow-up FAQs, visit FAFSA on the web and click on 3 FAFSA Follow-Up to reach the link to FAFSA Follow-Up FAQs.
You must be admitted through IU Kokomo Admissions for us to begin the financial aid process. For entering students, admission by December 1 or no later than March 1 for the following Fall semester will result in your consideration for IU Kokomo scholarships. For continuing student scholarship consideration, you must be registered for fall classes by May 1.
