IU Foundation Scholarships

IU Kokomo is excited to award IU Foundation scholarships to both incoming and continuing students in recognition of their academic achievement, leadership, and community service. IU Foundation scholarships are created by generous donors who wish to invest in our students as they pursue and complete their higher education degrees. The scholarships have varying and diverse criteria set by the donor(s) to support their desire in assisting our students.

To be considered of our IU Foundation scholarships, admitted students are encouraged to complete the general scholarship application by choosing the Apply now link above. The scholarship application for incoming Freshmen has a priority deadline of March 1, with closing date of May 1 and for Continuing Students the deadline is May 1.

IU Foundation scholarship recipients are required to meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), have a declared area of study and be enrolled full-time unless otherwise stated in the criteria. A listing of our IU Foundation scholarships and their criteria can be found below.

Alpha Delta Kappa Tau Chapter Scholarship 
Undergraduate, resident of Howard County, admitted to the Teacher Education Program, entering their student teaching semester, minimum cumulative GPA 3.0, federal financial need. One-time award.         

Amal and Betty Das Scholarship
Undergraduate, majoring in a medical-related field, enrolled full-time, minimum 3.0 GPA, federal financial need. Renewable, 4 years max award, provided recipient continues to meet criteria.

Angela Gail / Allan C. Reeves Scholarship
Undergraduate, majoring in a medical related, accepted into the IUK Honors Program, preference to student with financial need. Renewable, 4 years max award, provided recipient continues to meet criteria.     

Ann Adele Ford Memorial Nursing Scholarship
Undergraduate, enrolled in the nursing program, federal financial need, minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Renewable, provided recipient continues to meet criteria.    

Barnes Family Scholarship
Undergraduate, enrolled full-time, successfully completed a minimum of 30 credit hours at IUK, demonstrated financial need, minimum GPA of 2.5. Renewable, 3 years max award, provided recipient continues to meet criteria.          

Beauchamp
Students enrolled at the Indiana University Kokomo campus who demonstrate academic ability and financial need. Renewable provided recipient continues to meet criteria.    

Benjamin and Sylvia Safianow Scholarship
Undergraduate Junior or Senior student, minimum of 56 completed credit hours, History/Political Science major or secondary education majors with a social studies concentration, minimum GPA of 3.3, enrolled full-time.

Second scholarship for undergraduate, political science or history major, 2.5 GPA, participating in an internship, preference to internship at Howard County Historical Society. One-time award.

Bob Williams Memorial Scholarship
Undergraduate, enrolled full-time in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, with a concentration in English Literature and/or performing arts concentration, minimum GPA of 2.5. Renewable provided recipient continues to meet criteria.       

Bucheri, McCarty and Metz Scholarship
Howard County resident studying business, minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. One scholarship for an incoming Freshman enrolled full-time with a business concentration, ranked in the top 20% of high school class, has a minimum SAT of 1080.

Second Scholarship for a Sophomore or Junior enrolled full-time with a business concentration and has a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Third Scholarship for a Senior enrolled full-time with a business concentration or a graduate MBA student enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours. This recipient and amount will be determined by the faculty of IU Kokomo School of Business. Please see the School of Business page to apply. One-time award.

Undergraduate accounting majors, enrolled full-time, minimum 3.5 GPA. Please see the School of Business web page for more information. One-time award.   

Button and Gingerich Families Scholarship
Undergraduate, enrolled full-time, minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Preference given to students with demonstrated financial need. One-time award.

Carol & Bud Hillis IU Kokomo Scholarship
Undergraduate, enrolled full-time, minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Special consideration given to underrepresented populations, including but not limited to financially challenged students, and/or students with diverse cultural experiences. Renewable, 4 years max award, provided recipients continue to meet criteria.

Cathy Archer Memorial Scholarship
Undergraduate Sophomore, Junior, or Senior status, non-traditional student, enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours, demonstrated financial need, minimum 2.7 GPA. Renewable, 4 years max award, provided recipient continues to meet criteria.

Chancellor and Mrs. Victor M. Bogle Scholarship
Undergraduate Junior or Senior, enrolled full-time in the Department of Social and Behavioral Science, majoring in history and/or political science, minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Renewable, 2 years max award, provided recipient continues to meet criteria.

Incoming Freshman residing in Cass County, enrolled full-time, 2.5 GPA on 4.0 scale, federal financial need. Renewable provided recipient continues to meet criteria.

Undergraduate Senior, History major with special interest in US History, minimum GPA of 3.0, enrolled full-time. One-time award.

Community First Bank Women's Basketball Scholarship
Member of the IU Kokomo Women’s Basketball Team enrolled full-time. One-time award.         

Community First Local Leadership
Undergraduate scholarships for incoming Freshmen on the IU Kokomo campus who have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. First preference will be given to students who are graduates of the Kokomo CEO program and second preference will be given to students from Howard County in Indiana. One time award.

Connie Noel Memorial Scholarship
Incoming or continuing student enrolled full-time or part-time, minimum 2.3 GPA, preference give to a minority student. One-time award.       

Cora & Franklin Breckenridge Scholarship
IUK Student must be enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours per term and have a minimum 2.3 GPA on a 4.0 GPA scale. Preference is given to a minority student. One-time award.  

Cream and Crimson Round Scholarship
Enrolled min. 6 credits, maintains 2.5 GPA. One-time award.         

David Gossman Women's Soccer Scholarship
Student members of the IU Kokomo Women's Soccer team, enrolled full-time. One-time award.

DeShaney Scholarship
Incoming Freshman, a graduate of Eastern High School, enrolled full-time, merit-based. One-time award.         

Destination: Education IUK Scholarship
Undergraduate, Howard County resident who graduated from a Howard County high school, enrolled full-time, minimum 2.0 GPA, high federal financial need. Renewable, 4 years max award, provided recipient continues to meet criteria.

Donald J. Lindgren Memorial Scholarship
Undergraduate Sophomore, Junior or Senior student, minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, demonstrated financial need, full or part time enrollment. One-time award.

Donald Lane Memorial Scholarship
Undergraduate, enrolled in General Studies, demonstrated academic ability and federal financial need. Renewable provided recipient continues to meet criteria.         

Donna Gossman Memorial IU Kokomo Education Scholarship
Undergraduate Sophomores majoring in pre-education, demonstrated financial need, minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, from IU Kokomo's fourteen-county service region. Preference to a graduate of Western High School in Kokomo, IN. One-time award.      

Doris Alcorn Nursing Scholarship
Undergraduate Sophomore, admitted to the Nursing School, minimum GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale. One-time award.

Doris Daily Angell Scholarship
Transfer students from Ivy Tech Community College, enrolled full-time. Renewable provided recipient continues to meet criteria.      

Douglas A. Fraser Scholarship
Students who are residents of Howard County, enrolled at least part-time (6 credits), consideration given to UAW members and their dependents who are employed in Howard County and attend Indiana University Kokomo. Preference given to students with GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and federal financial need. One-time award.      

Dr. Liang-Huwang Chiu and Fusiang Chiu Scholarship
First scholarship to an Incoming Freshman, enrolled full-time, federal financial need and a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, special consideration will be given to underrepresented populations, including but not limited to financially challenged students, and/or students with diverse cultural experiences. Preference for African American and/or Latino students.

The second scholarship awarded to student in the School of Education, federal financial need, and a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, special consideration will be given to underrepresented populations, including but not limited to financially challenged students, and/or students with diverse cultural experiences. Preference for African American and/or Latino students. Both scholarships are renewable provided the recipients continues to meet the criteria.

Dr. Linda Wallace and Lt. Col. David Wallace, USAF (Ret.) Nursing Scholarship
Nursing students admitted to the pre-licensure BSN nursing program, enrolled full-time, minimum GPA of 3.0, involved in a service organization in community or on campus. Renewable provided recipient continues to meet criteria.   

Dr. Richard N. Bowling Memorial Scholarship
Undergraduate, pursuing a medical and/or nursing degree, enrolled full-time, minimum GPA of 2.5, preference to African American students. Renewable provided recipient continues to meet criteria.  

Dr. Ruth Person Scholarship
Undergraduate Sophomore, Junior, or Senior student, enrolled full-time, minimum GPA of 3.0.  Renewable provided recipient continues to meet criteria.          

Dr. Samuel and Florence Kanter Memorial Scholarship
Students majoring in Biological and Physical Sciences interested in pursuing a degree in Dentistry, minimum GPA of 3.2, enrolled full-time. Renewable provided recipient continues to meet criteria. 

Dr. Ted L. Grayson MD IU Kokomo Scholarship in Nursing and Sciences
For full-time students enrolled in the School of Nursing, the Radiography program, the Medical Imaging Technology program, or a pre-health professional track in the School of Sciences at IU Kokomo who have a minimum GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, have demonstrated financial need, and have been Indiana residents for at least five years. Preference will be given to students who are from a working family farm, who participated in their high school agricultural classes, and/or who participated in Future Farmers of America. Renewable provided recipient continues to meet criteria.          

Earl W. Turner Scholarship
Undergraduate, enrolled full-time, min. GPA of 3.0 on a 4-point scale. Preference shall be given to a female who has been out of high school for several years and is returning to prepare herself for employment. Renewable provided recipient continues to meet criteria.   

Elementary Education Fund
Elementary Education student meets academic standards of the program, eligible to student teach. One-time award.  

Elizabeth J. Ortman Nursing Scholarship
Students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, enrolled full-time, demonstrated financial need, minimum GPA of 3.0. Renewable, max 4 years awarded, provided recipient continues to meet criteria.

Legal resident of Cass County, enrolled in minimum of 9 hours per semester, federal financial need, 2.5 minimum GPA. Renewable provided recipient continues to meet criteria.

Gerry Gunning Stroman Scholarship
Incoming Freshman, enrolled full-time, federal financial need, minimum high school GPA of 2.3 on a 4.0 scale. Special consideration given to underrepresented populations, including but not limited to financially challenged students, and/or students with diverse cultural experiences. First preference for African American, Latino, or Native American students and a second preference for students from Kokomo, Indiana, or surrounding high schools. Integrity Scholarship
Undergraduate Junior enrolled full-time in the Education program, minimum 3.5 GPA. Renewable one additional year provided recipient continues to meet criteria.    

IU Kokomo Alumni Association Scholarship
Available to incoming Freshmen and continuing students. Preference is given to students who are related to a member of the IU Alumni Association. Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours.  Applicants must demonstrate a minimum 2.0 GPA, short essay, and volunteer/school activities how they would benefit from the scholarship.  A letter of reference is required.  To apply, complete the IU General Scholarship application by May 1. IU Kokomo MSN Legacy Scholarship
Graduate, enrolled in the Master of Science in Nursing Program, minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. One-time award provided recipient continues to meet criteria.    

IU Kokomo Women's Volleyball
For students at IU Kokomo who are members of the women's volleyball team.  The amount of the scholarship will not exceed, for any one recipient, the amount permitted by the NAIA for a ""full"" scholarship.  Renewable provided recipients continue to meet the criteria outlined above.

IUK Honors Program Scholarship
Undergraduate, enrolled full time, top 20% of graduating class, minimum SAT score of 1100 or ACT score of 24. Continuing students must have 12 hours completed, enrolled full-time, 3.3 GPA be honors program member. One-time award. 

IUK Nursing Scholarship
Undergraduate, Pre-licensure and licensure students enrolled in Nursing, enrolled full-time, demonstrated financial need, minimum GPA of 3.0. Renewable provided recipient continues to meet criteria.  

IUK Scholarship for Part-time Students
Undergraduate, enrolled in 5-11 hours, good academic standing.Renewable, 4-year max award, provided recipient continues to meet criteria.      

IUK Staff Council Scholarship
One scholarship will be a minimum of $500 and given to an undergraduate part-time student, enrolled for 5 to 11 credit hours.

The other scholarship will be a minimum of $500 and given to any full-time Sophomore, Junior or Senior. Preference given to students with good academic status that have federal financial need. One-time award.

IUK Summer Golf Outing Scholarship
Undergraduate Sophomore, Junior or Senior, minimum of 2.3 GPA, enrolled full-time. One-time award.  Recipient must re-apply.      

IUK Transfer Scholarship
Transfer student who has completed an AA or AS degree prior to transfer, first time degree seeking student at any campus, enrolled full-time, ≥3.5 cumulative GPA at the time of final transcript submission confirming degree and GPA earns a $1,000 award OR ≥ 3.0 & ≤ 3.49 cumulative GPA at the time of final transcript submission confirming degree and GPA earns a $500 award. Renewable, 3 years max award, provided recipient maintains 2.5 GPA and completes 12 credits each semester.

Undergraduate, interested in studying Nursing, minimum GPA of 3.5, enrolled full-time, preference to graduate of Kokomo High School. Renewable provided recipient continues to meet criteria.

Undergraduate Senior, Education major, in their student teaching semester, min. 2.5 GPA. One-time award.

Incoming Freshman, top 10% of graduating class, preference to full-time with alternates at part-time (6 credits). Renewable provided recipient continues to meet criteria and maintains a 3.3 GPA.          

Key Bank Scholarship
Incoming Freshman from Howard County or Cass County, enrolled full-time, seeking business degree, with 1080 SAT, top 20% graduating class. Renewable provided recipient maintains 3.3 GPA and full-time enrollment.          

Kokomo Region Alumni Scholarship
Undergraduate, degree-seeking student, enrolled full-time, has financial need, minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. A letter of reference is required. Kokomo's Women's Department Club Scholarship
Resident of Howard County, undergraduate Junior or Senior student, enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours per semester or a graduating senior who wished to pursue a graduate degree in their undergraduate major field at IUK, have a declared interest in the field of study relating to art, music, nursing, humanities, history or education, GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0-point scale, preference given to students with demonstrated financial need. Renewable provided recipient continues to meet criteria.  

Life in Full Color Scholarship
Incoming Freshman, enrolled full-time, minimum GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. Special consideration given to underrepresented populations, including but not limited to financially challenged students, and/or students with diverse cultural experiences. Preference for an LGBTQ+ student. Renewable provided recipient maintains a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

LMC Workholding Scholarship
Undergraduate or Graduate, enrolled full-time, demonstrated financial need, minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, enrolled in School of Business, the Computer Science and Informatics program, and/or the New Media Art and Technology program. Renewable provided recipient continues to meet criteria. 

Lois Hathaway Memorial Scholarship
Undergraduate, Non-traditional female student, enrolled full-time, demonstrated financial need, minimum 3.0 GPA. Renewable provided recipient continues to meet criteria.

Incoming Freshman, top 20% of high school class, enrolled full-time, preference given to African American, Hispanic, Asian American, and American Indian students. Renewable, 4 years max award, provided recipient maintains a 2.75 GPA and full-time enrollment.         

Patricia A. Pencek Endowed Scholarship
Undergraduate Junior or Senior, enrolled full-time, major in Business, minimum GPA of 3.0 on 4.0 scales, resident of Howard County and/or contiguous counties: Carroll, Cass, Clinton, Grant, Miami, Tipton, and Wabash. Pauline Thrush Thompson Scholarship
Undergraduate, graduate of a high school in Miami County, IN, demonstrated financial need, minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. Prefer full-time enrollment. Renewable, 4 years max award, provided recipient continues to meet criteria.      

Pendse Outstanding MBA Student Scholarship
For outstanding Graduate students who have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours in the MBA program at IU Kokomo and have a record of academic excellence as demonstrated by a minimum GPA of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale. Please see the School of Business web page for more information. One-time award.       

Phillip L. Kauble Nursing Scholarship
Students seeking a baccalaureate or advanced degree in Nursing at IU Kokomo who are in good academic standing within the Nursing Program, and enrolled full-time. Preference will be given applicants who meet one of more of the following criteria:  employees of Community Howard Regional Health, students interested in the fields of cancer research or oncology, and/or applicants in clinical classes who have exhibited quality of caring and sharing of self as well as continual learning skills developed through self-taught or formal education processes. Selection criteria will include student content knowledge and professional knowledge in the field on Nursing, including but not limited to the professional and courteous care of patients in the hospital setting.  One-time award. Recipients must reapply.        

Pi Lambda Theta Scholarship (Patricia Wood Student Teaching Award)
Recipient of the scholarship shall be determined by the Chair of the Division of Education or designee in consultation with the Gamma Gamma Chapter of Pi Lambda Theta. This scholarship shall be awarded based upon an application process. One-time award.   

Randy and Esther Fishman Volleyball Scholarship
Student members of the volleyball team enrolled full-time. Renewable provided recipient continues to meet criteria.

Raymond F. and Mary S. Bonhomme Scholarship

Preference given to students who have worked with residents at nursing homes, hospitals, or certified nursing aid programs, and/or students who have demonstrated an interest in Parkinson's disease. For undergraduate students enrolled full-time in the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at IU Kokomo who have demonstrated financial need and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Preference will be given to students with work experience relevant to occupational therapy or students who have either received or have immediate family members who have received occupational therapy treatment. Renewable provided recipients continue to meet the criteria listed above.

Undergraduate Junior or Senior Natural, Information, and Mathematical Science students declaring a NIMS' major, completed a minimum of fifteen (15) hours in the area of NIMS and a minimum of thirty (30) credit hours at IU Kokomo, minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. One-time award.

Each recipient shall be a legal resident of Cass County and enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours per semester at IUK. Preference shall be given to students who have financial need and a record of academic excellence as demonstrated by a GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Undergraduate Juniors, minimum GPA of 3.1 on 4.0 scale, enrolled full-time, studying Management, Hospitality and Tourism Management or Public Administration and Health Management in the School of Business. Special consideration will be given to underrepresented populations, including but not limited to financially challenged students, and/or students with diverse cultural experiences. Preference to students who are African American, Hispanic, Native American, LGBTQ+, and/or single parents. Scholarship will be renewed for up to four semesters provided the recipient continues to meet the GPA requirements and remains in good academic standing.

Sita and C.L. Amba-Rao Make a Difference Nursing Scholarship
Undergraduate Sophomores, major in Nursing, minimum GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, enrolled full-time. Special consideration will be given to underrepresented populations, including but not limited to financially challenged students, and/or students with diverse cultural experiences. Preference to students who are African American, Hispanic, Native American, LGBTQ+, and/or single parents. Scholarship will be renewed for up to six semesters provided the recipient continues to meet the GPA requirements and remains in good academic standing.

Sita and C.L. Amba-Rao Leadership and Service Award
First award will be given to an undergraduate Senior with Business major and minimum GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.

The second award will be given to an MBA student with at least 15 credits of 500 level courses and a cumulative minimum GPA of 3.6 on a 4.0 scale. The awards are intended to encourage service orientation through extracurricular and volunteer activities; recipients should demonstrate potential through participation in campus organizations or community organizations at large.
