The Annual High School Exhibition showcases the talent and creativity of area high school juniors and seniors. Each year, artwork in a variety of media ranging from drawing, painting, ceramics, mixed media, and more are selected by their teachers and put on display for this exhibition.
The Select Student Works is an annual exhibition featuring artworks by IU Kokomo NMAT students. Each piece in this showcase has been hand-picked by faculty to celebrate the talent, creativity, and growth of our emerging artists. The exhibition features a diverse range of media, including drawing, digital art, printmaking, painting, sculpture, and more.
This year’s Field exhibition occupies the front half of the art gallery, while the second half features a special display of student printmaking works. The collection showcases prints created over the years by students in the printmaking course, where each student designs and produces a series of prints to exchange with their classmates. Through this ongoing project, instructor Minda Douglas has built an extensive collection of student prints, which she has generously shared for this exhibition.
This exhibition features artworks by Indiana artist that have been collected by OneAmerica (formerly American United Life). Since 2015, the company has donated pieces from their collection to Indiana University. A selection of some of these donated pieces are on loan to the IU Kokomo Art Gallery from University Collections and are on display in this exhibition.
Featuring artists who have completed degrees through the IU Kokomo NMAT and Art programs. This exhibition highlights the evolution of their creative practices since graduation and celebrates their artistic achievements. It offers a unique opportunity to share their work with the community and to inspire the next generation of artists through their continued growth and innovation.
When something has an unordinary or eerie quality, it may be referred to as “uncanny.” Sometimes, things evoke a strange and unexplainable aura that makes viewers question reality. When something feels “uncanny,” it may resonate as an indescribable experience.
This exhibition serves to demonstrate the levels of competence each student has achieved from the New Media, Arts, & Technology (NMAT) program, and provides an opportunity for the campus and the community to view their artistic efforts. NMAT BFA students must complete the capstone course in their final year with projects that culminate in a focused body of work.

Xuanyi Wang's work utilizes ornamentation and her own body as a visual bridge between intangible consciousness and tangible beauty. The body's form is altered with additional ornamental patterns so as to become a visual manifestation of the inner spirit. Wang grew up in a traditional Chinese family culture, then later came to the United States, where she says she experienced a more liberal society. "As a transnational artist, my imagery is motivated by how womanhood is defined in the United States versus China. The cultures of the East and West have become intertwined in my persona," says Wang.
The IU Kokomo Art Gallery proudly presents the Faculty Biennial Exhibition 2024, featuring artworks by our IUK New Media, Art, and Technology (NMAT) faculty members. This exhibition showcases artworks in a wide variety of media. It gives the students and the community an up-close look at the styles and materials each artist chooses to create with.
The word ethereal means having a quality that possesses almost perfect or extremely delicate features that pertain to a spiritual realm rather than something of this earth. The Ethereal Exhibition is a juried exhibition for which artists submit artwork that is inspired by or holds this mystical essence. The exhibition is juried and curated by Abigail Carman.

The participating schools from the surrounding area include Elwood Community High School, Logansport High School, Northfield High School, Peru High School, Rossville High School, Sheridan High School, and Tri-Central High School. The artworks on display include a variety of different media ranging from: drawing, painting, ceramics, mixed media and more.
