Biology

One of the best parts about studying biology is the variety. Whether you’re interested in cell biology or molecular biology or immunology or anything in between, you can dive in and study the topics in the field that interest you.

With this minor, you’ll gain an understanding of key biological concepts and learn how to evaluate things within the field for yourself. With courses ranging from Introduction to Biology to Cell Physiology to Ecology, you’ll get to tailor your minor to your interests while covering a wide range of topics.

Chemistry

When it comes to science, many of the subfields work together and gaining an understanding of multiple fields can help you make new connections and develop new skills. If you’re interested in tailoring your current course of study to include your interests in organic or inorganic chemistry, physical or analytical chemistry, this is the path for you!

In this minor, you’ll learn to understand key concepts in the field and gain the skills you need to evaluate things for yourself. With a Minor in Chemistry, you’ll have the opportunity to take courses ranging from Principles of Chemistry to Energy and Green Chemistry – A Natural Science Perspective to Organic Spectroscopy.

Environmental and Earth Science

If you’ve already selected a course of study but want to tailor your studies and experience to your goals, adding a minor is a great way to specialize and add to your growing knowledge. With a Minor in Environmental and Earth Science, you’ll get to take classes like Green Chemistry and Sustainability Sciences, Environmental Physics, Geology of Indiana, and more! Physics

The physics minor allows you to build on your experience in the introductory physics sequence required for some majors and explore more contemporary elements of physics in both their theoretical and experimental aspects.

The proposed sequence of courses for the physics minor will introduce you to mechanics, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, electricity and magnetism, relativity, and quantum mechanics in both theoretical and experimental settings. These are all the basic topics of upper-level courses that when explored in greater depth would constitute a physics major. In addition to the introductory core of 15 credit hours, you will, at your discretion, apply this knowledge in either the setting of an independent research course or environmental physics.
