This workshop will focus on reasons why accessibility for students with disabilities is important, principles of Universal Design of Learning that can be used to result in a more inclusive online learning environment for all students, and practical tips on making instructional materials more accessible using common software (like Office). The workshop is taught totally online in Canvas using web resources. Faculty will experience this Canvas experience from a student perspective. It is recommended for faculty who create/revise online or blended courses or are considering doing so. Faculty who use online resources or create instructional materials as supplementary learning as part of classroom courses can also benefit. This course is required for those earning their Basic Online Course Development Certificate.
