The staff of the Office of Student Success and Advising provide academic advising services to undergraduate students of all majors.

Students and advisors work as a team to reach the student's goal of graduation. Advisors provide assistance to students for academic excellence and student success.  The advisor serves as a facilitator of communication, a coordinator of learning experiences through academic and career planning and progress reviews, and an agent of referral to other campus and community services as needed.

The office also provides oversight for New Student Orientation, Convocation, Success Coaching, Testing, and 21st Century Scholar support.

Student Spotlights

Brenda Morgan
Retirement was just the beginning for Brenda Morgan. Bored with sitting at home, Morgan, now 61, decided it was time to complete the bachelor’s degree she started shortly after high school. She enrolled at Indiana University Kokomo, determined to graduate.
Family Tradition
Inspired by his mother’s career in nursing, Randy Lorenz decided to enroll at IU Kokomo, continuing his family’s tradition. Dorothy Lorenz earned her nursing degree in 1981, and his brothers, Lloyd and Doyle, completed their undergraduate degrees here in the early 1990s, before going to medical school.
Bridge program
Making the transition from high school to college can be intimidating. Incoming Indiana University Kokomo freshman Peyton Colvin feels prepared for the challenge ahead of her, after participating in the campus’ summer Bridge program.
Bri Rose
Bri Rose rolls up her sleeves, gearing up for a career in one of the world’s fastest growing industries – hospitality and tourism. “The career possibilities in this field are endless,” said Rose, a junior at Indiana University Kokomo and one of the first to declare this major after the degree program became available two years ago.
